Road safety: working near or on a road


Goal
Road safety training for supervisors and operational personal

Content
Conforming to CROW guidelines and VIANED

Goal

OSHA – 30 Hour Construction


Course discription
This course covers thirty (30) hours of training,required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), that apply toward the 30-Hour Construction Industry course completion card. The course is comprised of 25 sections, each either one or two hours in length, and covers topics pertaining to regulations covered by Standard 29 CFR 1926. The successful completion of this course will help meet the Construction Industry standards established by OSHA.

Regulatory
This course has been reviewed and accepted by OSHA. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a temporary printable certificate. In 4-6 weeks, you will receive a card from OSHA and the Department of Labor in the mail.

Testing
The participants must make a score of at least 70% to pass this course. You will be given up to three opportunities to pass the final exam; if you do not pass it after three tries, you will be locked out of this course and you will be required to purchase it again if you wish to complete it.

HAZWOPER RMEC313 (40 hours course)


Course discription
The course examines the proper health and safety procedures and personnel protection during work operations at hazardous waste sites. Topics include hazard identification and control, safety planning, site control, personal protective equipment, site monitoring, emergency and incident response operation, and decontamination process.

Contents • Meet the requirements for certification of OSHA1910.120.
• Understand the various training regulations relating to hazardous materials handling and response. Know which activities can be performed at what level of certification. • Demonstrate knowledge of the types of hazardous materials and the various hazards and risks associated with them. • Demonstrate knowledge of the routes of entry for hazardous materials to enter the body. • Demonstrate an understanding of the health effects that hazardous materials can have on the body. • Demonstrate an understanding of the terminology used in describing hazardous materials including vapor density, specific gravity, miscibility/solubility, carcinogen, teratogen, mutagen, pH, PPM, TLV, IDLH, flammable/explosive range, combustible, flammable, flash point, and ignition temperature. • Demonstrate an understanding of the primary identification systems including the Department of Transportation (DOT) system, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 704 system, and Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS). • Understand the need for personal protective equipment when using hazardous materials. • Identify the levels of protective clothing used in hazardous waste operations. • Demonstrate an understanding of the need for respiratory equipment and of the advantages and disadvantages to the types of respiratory equipment. • Review work practices that can be used to minimize the risks commonly found at waste sites. • Review the safe use of engineering controls in the elimination and control of hazards. • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of decontamination and of the types of decontamination practices commonly used at waste site activities. • List the hazards of confined space operations and the types of procedures to minimize them. • Review activities related to containment of spills to minimize their effects on personnel and the environment.

Goal
